WE MUST DELIVER OURSELVES WITH THE HELP OF OUR MINDS... FOR ONE WHO HAS CONQUERED THE MIND, THE MIND IS THE BEST OF FRIENDS; BUT FOR THE ONE WHO HAS FAILED TO DO SO, THE MIND WILL REMAIN THE GREATEST ENEMY.

REINVENTION

I’m sure there is something about ourselves we would like to change, or wish we could change; either make different, make better or get rid of. The power to change is within ourselves and it is with the body and mind working together that make this change happen. The motivation to reinvention comes from knowing that you can change whatever you want about yourself. You need to reformat your way of thinking, not just about yourself but how you want others to perceive you. Our minds are the most powerful tools we have and we would not exist without them. So the greatest advantage we have is our ability to change our thoughts and actions, all stemming from our everyday decisions. Pinpoint what you want to change and take action to accomplishing that. Start with your thoughts…change your thoughts, and your body will follow.

Goal Setting/Part 2
Goals are important in everyday life, and hopefully what I wrote before was helpful. Once we realize that with goals, we can ultimately change our lives, we will be able to make them easier. Remember that goals can be changed. They are not set in stone and since we make them, we can change them when necessary. Try not to worry about adjustments. Life happens as does human nature and we have to be able to adapt otherwise we will constantly be discouraged. The deadline (the date) is not the focal point, the objective is. Every goal must be dated in order to ensure commitment and obligation. You can change the date but make it specific! If goals can’t be adjusted, or changed then whoever does not complete those goals, won’t try again. You can’t give up and it’s ok to try at a goal more than once. Try to remember that goals are merely steps to bigger things within your life. No goal is your “last”. Each takes us to where we want to end up. That is why smaller goals are more important, because they get us to the larger ones.
Goals are written statements of the choices we want in our life: where we want to go in life, what we want, where we want to end up and whether or not they will lead us to something bigger. When you break down a goal, focus on the steps you’re going to take to obtain it. Take ACTION! These steps are more important the goal itself and the action you take is what will help you get past the obstacles that are always keeping you from reaching your goal. You need to follow your own steps, that you’ve written and keep track of them. Life is a process and a journey and no one can expect to get from point A to B with one simple action. The really change your life and get what you want you have to keep yourself motivated, and accountable. This is what a Life Coach does for you. So write down your goal, write down what you think could keep you from attaining that goal, then write down how you’re going to overcome those small obstacles. Ultimately you’ll reach what you’re really trying to accomplish.

Goal Setting

GOAL SETTING…
It’s important in life to SET GOALS. Setting goals, big or small, is the key to success. It is a fact that goal-setting is a skill. It is something you have to learn. A Life Coach helps you to do this, maintain your goal setting and keep you on track.
People who have troubles setting goals have just not learned the skill, and it can be taught. When we understand that goal setting is a skill we will be able to look at it differently. Anyone can learn goal setting, it is just like learning a skill, and sometimes it just takes practice. There are different types of goals; short-term, long-term, passive and active goals.
You need to remember that goals should be written to be changed, and not set in stone. They should not be in the present tense. Small goals are more important than large goals. Big goals are important, however it’s the small steps within those goals that count the most. Look at it this way…the small goals are what gets you there…to the big goals. Small goals are the goals you can reach today, this week, this month, that get you to the goals in the distance.
All goals should be written down; it creates a road map to success. If they are not written down, they are not a goal. They become merely equal to a wish or a dream, a simple thought. Be productive and hold yourself accountable. When writing down goals they should all begin with the word “to”. For example…”to lose 10 pounds”, “to save $50 a week”. Goals are precise targets and it sets up the structure of the goal so it is written properly.. Goals should also be dated. Don’t be afraid to be committed to a date. It puts commitment and obligation on completing that goal. Dates can be changed, but make it specific, an exact date, not just a month or year, don’t be broad.
Goals should be written to be changed, when necessary. Try not to worry about adjustments, life happens and with that we need to be able to make changes. It’s human nature and we live in a world where we can’t always control our situations. The deadline is not the key objective, accomplishment is.
I will continue later with more goal setting tips and tricks. First, get in the habit of setting and writing down your goals. They can be as simple or as complex as you want them to be. Later I’ll teach you how to reach your goals.

Key to a successful day!
Like most people, not every one of my days starts off great. There are those days when I wonder if I really have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. (What about those of you who only have one side of the bed?) There are easy things we can all do to start our day off right. I’m not talking about eating our Wheaties, or doing a morning workout. The key to a successful day all starts with our attitude. Begin your morning with a good attitude and good things will happen. No matter how tired you may be, or how ugly it is outside, or the reason you’re getting up in the first place, make your own personal decision to have a good day. Before you leave the house remind yourself that today is a new day, you won’t be able to get it back or do it again tomorrow so make it worth it. We waste so much time going through the motions, and our worlds become mundane. Don’t let that happen.
Do something productive, no matter how small the task may be, get something accomplished. Self accomplishment is one of the very few things we have control over. No one in this world is going to do things for you. What I mean by that is, no one will make you successful, no one will make your decisions, it’s all up to you.
Try to make each day a little different, a little special in your own way. Do something you usually don’t do in the morning. Call an old friend and catch up, listen to your favorite song from 5 years ago, read something inspiring, give someone a compliment. Get creative!
When setbacks occur, or when average happenings just don’t happen the way you want them to, embrace it. Don’t let the little things in life derail you or set you back. Make the best out of every situation because every opportunity, every sidestep, is an opportunity to learn and grow (even if it’s only personally known to you).
So what can you do TODAY to make this moment better? How can you make today better than yesterday? Take little steps, little changes to changing your everyday attitude and you will be amazed at how you’ve changed so much more than that.
Remember today only happens once, you will never get it back, you can never get another chance at making today a good day.
